Q: What is the RF Microneedling Experience Like?

Most patients tolerate RF Microneedling extremely well, especially our Sylfirm X device with significantly less pain. Your provider will apply a topical numbing cream before treatment. During treatment, our Aestheticians will move the handpiece across sections of your skin. You may feel slight heat and prickly sensations in the areas being actively treated. The treatment typically lasts roughly 45 minutes.

Q: What is the Difference Between Microneedling and RF Microneedling?

Microneedling is purely needles creating microchannels into the skin, stimulating the healing response of the body. RF Microneedling takes traditional microneedling to another level by delivering radiofrequency energy deep within the skin via those micro channels created. Q: What to Expect Post Treatment?

You can resume daily activities immediately without restriction. The recovery period is rapid, with mild swelling and redness for the day following your treatment. You will begin to notice smoother, tighter skin after your treatment, but it will take a full 4-6 months to see the full results from the increased collagen production.

Q: How Many RF Microneedling Treatments Do I Need?

A single treatment will improve the appearance of the skin, however best results are achieved with a series of treatments. Most patients receive a series of 3-4 initial treatments and then can switch to regular maintenance treatments throughout the year. Treatments are typically spaced about one month to 6 weeks apart.

What is RF Microneedling?

Radiofrequency Microneedling, also called RF Microneedling, combines radiofrequency energy, collagen-stimulating microneedling, and pulsed wave technology to restore your skin to its youthful, bouncy, and most vibrant state. Here at Bonness we use two different RF Microneedling devices to achieve results customized to each patient, Viva and Sylfirm X.

Venus Viva NanoFractional Microneedling uses tiny pins to remold your skin tissue, safely delivering heat without actually puncturing your skin resulting in wrinkle, pigmentation, and acne scar reduction as well as overall skin texture improvement.

Sylfirm X is the first and only dual-wave RF Microneedling system that stands out for its superior ability to precisely target and treat sun damage, hyperpigmentation, and melasma while improving skin laxity and texture and reducing pore size. The device can penetrate deeper skin layers without damaging the outer tissues, resulting in significantly less pain and downtime than other RF Microneedling devices on the market, such as Morpheus8.

The Sylfirm X device has microneedles that can be adjusted to depths ranging from 0.3mm to 4mm as well as two different RF energy modes, Pulsed Wave Mode and Continuous Wave Mode. The Pulsed Wave Mode pulses the radiofrequency energy to selectively break up dark pigmentation, vascular lesions, and acne. The Continuous Wave Mode uses radiofrequency energy to deliver a steady pulse deep into the skin to trigger lifting and tightening. These various options allow us to completely customize the treatment to each patient and effectively treat various skin concerns all at once.
