One of the more common signs of sun damage   and rosacea is the appearance of spider veins on the cheeks, nose and chin.  The veins can be very visible or just give the face an overall red or ruddy appearance.  The VBeam laser can significantly reduce these veins.  Depending on the size and amount the laser can treat these veins in as little as two treatments but can involve more.  The Candela laser can be used to gently heat the vein causing it to collapse and be absorbed by the body.

Q: What can I expect during the procedure?

A: The procedure is done in the office and usually takes 15 minutes.  Laser goggles will be placed and the treatment will begin. The laser has a unique cooling spray that precedes the laser pulse.  The pulse will feel like a very small rubber band snap.  It is slightly uncomfortable but not truly painful.

Q: What can I expect after the procedure?

A: After laser spider vein treatments the area can be red for a few hours.  There should be no blistering or bruising.  Normal activity and skin care can be resumed immediately.  As with any facial procedure done sunblock is a must.

Q: What are the risks?

A: Laser vein treatments are very safe.  As with any procedure patient selection is very important.  The risks are rare but include bruising and  blistering.
